In accordance with Law No. 101, effective from January 1st, 2024, the Icelandic government has introduced a Road tax fee applicable to electric vehicles, hydrogen vehicles, and plug-in hybrid cars.

2 ISK (0.01€/$) per kilometer for plug-in hybrid vehicles

To ensure a seamless experience for our customers, MYCAR will collect the Road tax fee at the beginning of the rental period. The fee will be estimated based on the average distance driven by renters in 2022 and 2023, allowing for a hassle-free process and eliminating unexpected charges at the end of the rental.
